CH Spurgeon, “If by excessive labor, we die before reaching the average age of man, worn out in the Master’s service, then glory be to God, we shall have so much less of earth and so much more of Heaven!”

My dad gave me a Spurgeon, “Morning and Evening,” devotion book in the late 1970’s and I start my day with it. When traveling, I will use an online version. Just like through scripture, the Holy Spirit speaks to me in timeless fashion. It is amazing.

I have so many favorites, but January 13th, PM and May 21st, PM are particular go-to encouragements.

It is hard to believe that he suffered from depression. Even so, he went on to do the work of the Lord and bless untold millions. May it be so with us.
