My opinion.
Social media is the cheapest and most dishonest of all rhetoric.
Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc. represent a strong threat to our republic.
Pure garbage.
The minions on these platforms are even called followers! My father, a combat veteran Marine (RIP), would have slapped the stupid out of me if I participated in following the idiots that publish on social media. He would have called this recalibration ‘actual reality’.
Time to flush the toilet.

Thomas Sowell is an amazing man. His personal story is inspiring as well as his writing.

Thanks for the tip, JBH. I looked him up. His profile on Wikipedia was lengthy and included this: Sowell occasionally writes on the subject of gun control, about which he has stated: “One can cherry-pick the factual studies, or cite some studies that have subsequently been discredited, but the great bulk of the studies show that gun control laws do not in fact control guns. On net balance, they do not save lives, but cost lives.”

I hope to read more of his opinions

It’s always good to read anything from the great Thomas Sowell. It’s just as good to read anything from the equally great Walter E. Williams.

Charles K… Mr. Sowell and Mr. Williams are 2 of the great thinkers and commentators of our day… I referenced both of these gentlemen in my classroom at school

An appropriate quote following Memorial Day. It’s always saddening to see the Military Cemeteries with rows of Crosses and Grave stones.

+”that these dead shall not have died in vain—that this nation, under ~~>God, ~ shall have a new birth of freedom—and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.” ~ Abraham Lincoln

“Pause at 3 p.m. in unity on Memorial Day.”
“The National Moment of Remembrance Act as an added way of honoring America’s fallen heroes? … the Act declares 3 p.m. local time on Memorial Day for Americans, in an act of symbolic unity, to have a moment of silence in honor of the men and women of the United States who died in the pursuit of freedom and peace.” [American Legion Auxiliary site]

The Internet says, 3 p.m. was chosen, because at the time most Americans have the freedom to pause in Remembrance.

As a note, the 3 p.m. time is also important to many Christians, for ~ Christ died on the Cross at 3 p.m. on Good Friday.
God Bless America, where so many Americans still believe in self-sacrifice.
