April 12th is the birthday of the late novelist Tom Clancy. (Born 1947, died October 1, 2013). It was Clancy who almost single-handedly created the modern techno-thriller genre, with his first novel, The Hunt For Red October [1]. Coincidentally, Tom Clancy’s first literary agent is my agent, Robert Gottlieb [2].

Tom Clancy was a very good writer and often showed the liberal agenda for what it was … and still is. JWR’s books are available new on Amazon but if money is tight the used ones are very cheap. I sometimes buy used copies to give to friends who then spread the message!
