April 8th is the birthday of the late Ian Smith [1], Prime Minister of Rhodesia. (Born, 1919, died November 20, 2007.)
April 8th is also the anniversary of the death of English experimental gunsmith and author Phillip Luty, [2] in 2011. He was hounded by British authorities for many years. He died of cancer before a scheduled criminal trial [3].

Many of Luty’s books are available as pdf files. Everyone should have a copy of these, as one day they may disappear from the inter-webs …deemed too dangerous or politically incorrect by the Thought Police.
His main title was, “Expedient Homemade Firearms, The 9mm Submachine Gun. ”
WARNING: Be aware that while you are legally allowed to make or build your own firearm, it is still illegal to build a full auto firearm (or one that fires from an open bolt).
However, he did publish a semi-auto version of the above title (Semi Auto BSP-SMG).
