The Editors’ Quote of the Day:

“Number one, we need to get in shape, number two we need to shoot, number three, we need to learn self-defense, and number four, we need to study small-unit tactics… If you do not have 5,000 rounds of .223, 5,000 rounds of .22 and 1,000 rounds of handgun ammo, as a minimum, you’re wrong. We need to train our families how to shoot as well. We need to get food. We need to have a year’s supply of food, two years supply of seeds, we need to have a year’s supply of sundry items. That’s what it means to be an American. We prepare for the worst but hope for the best.” – Washington Rep. Matt Shea

I’m not an American, but this is inspiring stuff for all citizens of the free world.

Must be a prepper! Or a prepper at heart anyway. And he is correct in the ammo dept. but personally I think he’s a little low. Personal goal is at least double that, cause we all know the time is coming and none of us knows when. The way the present society wide situation appears to be unfolding, the time is approaching….. Fast!

He said, “at a minimum”. We all have to start somewhere, one baby step at a time.

“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” – Matthew 10:28

Number one, we need to fear the Lord. The greatest threat to America is judgement.

Maag, you got your head screwed on straight.

We have decided not to get extreme about prepping for the same reason you listed here in referencing God’s Word. Plus, there is no way we could afford to purchase this amount of supplies. When it comes down to it, many are simply working to put food on the table these days and have very little to spare. That is what is so troubling in this country, especially the people who are struggling with serious medical expenses (like our family).

BTW, I was not praising Mr. Shea for his logistical recommendations, I was praising him for his character and I doubt he would disagree with your point or Scripture reference in any way. It is an important distinction and I’m thankful you made it here.

It all boils down to: Whom do you worship?

The time to decide whom you worship is short. Soon everyone will have voluntarily chosen to either be saved or to be lost. Worship Him who created all things.

Search the scriptures and you will know the answer to that, you will also know what it means to worship. Who you give authority to is who you worship. Exodus 20:8-11

Do not follow the Harlot or her daughters but Worship Him who created all things.

The amazing thing is that Mr. Shea is from Washington!
