The Survivalist’s Odds ‘n Sods:

SurvivalBlog presents another edition of The Survivalist’s Odds ‘n Sods— a collection of news bits and pieces that are relevant to the modern survivalist and prepper from “HJL [1]”. As hyper-inflation takes down the economy, Venezuelan Gas remains a constant.

Alex Jones

In light of the much-discussed August 6, 2018 mass banning/deletion of Infowars, I recommend that SurvivalBlog readers take a look at this article that I posted on July 10, 2018: The Internet Gulag: Demonetization, Demonization, and Deletion. [2] – JWR

South African Kleptocracy

Alex Barron (The Bard of The American Redoubt) just posted this warning about the potential plans of Julius Malema, in South Africa: To the best of my knowledge we are the first to show this video. [3]

Venezuelan Gas

Inflation has become such a problem in Venezuela that a single United States dollar will currently buy you 925,000 gallons [4] of gas. Despite the deepening crises, Venezuela has maintained its famous fuel subsidies that allow the population to get an entire tank of gas for less than the cost of a soda. This is less than five percent of the cost of production, but the country refuses to give up those subsidies. A single egg costs 200,000 bolivars, yet a liter of 91-octane gasoline costs just a single bolivar. Thanks to DSV for the link.

Speaking of gas, the international fallout from Venezuela’s deepening crises is starting. A U.S. federal judge has authorized the seizure [5] of the Citgo Petroleum Corp to help satisfy Venezuelan debt. While sealed, the verdict is expected to start a feeding frenzy on the only sizable asset that the Venezuelan government has in the U.S. The opinion likely has conditions or future legal hurdles in it, but we won’t know what many of them are until the court releases it’s redacted version at a later date. The case was brought by a Canadian company that is trying to collect on a judgment over lost mining rights involving the Venezuelan government. Thanks to D.S. for the link.

Thirsty Cows

This video of a water truck in Australia is quite interesting. Australia has been in the grip of a terrible drought that has been made worse by a very dry winter. Without natural water sources, farmers are struggling to keep crops and livestock alive. In an effort to save their pastures, many farmers are removing the stock from the land, but then other animals simply move it and take what little fodder there is. Here a farmer has driven a semi-truck of water nearly 150 miles to water his stock. The 300 plus cows are so thirsty [6] that the truck is quickly surrounded as they anxiously await their turn to get a drink. Thanks to T.J. for the link.

MLB & NFL

According to this article sent in by reader H.L., Major League Baseball and NFL fans are submitting their faces and fingerprints [7] to purchase food, beer, and tickets. CLEAR biometrics has announced that they have installed biometric fingerprint scanners at Seattle’s CenturyLink and Safeco fields concession stands. The video also revealed that biometrics are being used to spy on the fans. In addition, CLEAR has announced that they have facial recognition scanners in at least twelve Major League Baseball stadiums. Big Brother, here we come.

Whose Streets?

Reader D.S. submitted this article on Antifa rioters that invaded Portland City Hall [8] injuring and attacking innocent people and officials. This round of violence was spurred on by The Willamette Week, a liberal owned newspaper propaganda instrument that incorrectly claimed the Portland police attacked the rioters when it was actually the other way around. Antifa was the one creating the violence and spilling the blood. Get out of these infected cities while you can!

Knots

Valley Food Storage, a SurvivalBlog advertiser recently posted an article on 5 knots you need to know [9]. It’s a short article and while it doesn’t tell you how to tie these knots, it does link to other web sites that have the necessary instructions. You never know when you are going to need a knot, but you know you will need them at some point. The article explains what each knot is for and how it can be used to accomplish what you need.

Please send your news tips to HJL. (Either via e-mail of via our Contact [10] form.) These are often especially relevant, because they come from folks who watch news that is important to them. Due to their diligence and focus, we benefit from fresh “on target” news. We often “get the scoop” on news that is most likely ignored (or reported late) by mainstream American news outlets. Thanks!

“South African Kleptocracy”

How much does one have to be paid to be this guys white security guard? Does he not think that eventually he is on the menu? Stunning.

“At least for now”. Well now that’s good to know. At least for now.

How does this situation with Alex Jones have similar relationships to a blurb that was discussed and linked to on SurvivalBlog a while back about the cake baker refusing to make a cake for a gay couple?

Seems to me, private business can do what it wants to do, yes? How is AJ or amazon different? (I am not saying this is my opinion, but I am curious to what other people think about this).

I always say if you can’t tie a knot tie a lot!

Actually knots are far more important than you first think. And they can be interesting and fun. I ran into a guy a few years ago who was an industrial climbing instructor who used knot tying to help him quit smoking.

re:
‘Venezuelan gas’ secondary link

After reading the article, I scrolled through the associated links.

Did you know billionaire actress Oprah Winfrey, during an interview with a Brit, called for genocide against Caucasian people.

In the video, she says “All those old White people are racist! They all have to die! They all just have to die!”

I didn’t know that.

Wonder how much it would cost to ship 925,000 gallons of gas to southern Illinois? I could probably scrap up a couple bucks to buy the fuel.

OK I understand the problem with facebook, youtube, google, tweet etc. etc. But what is the alternative??? I have divorced myself from google and I have not belonged to youtube (I saw that one coming a long way off) BUT how do you go about defeating these monsters??? I would have to be financial and at the same time using an alternative but I do not see the alternatives out there. Let’s quite with the crying and defensive posturing and become procative.

Citgo was sold to the Russians a couple years ago as collateral to a bond issue, this will end with them owning a sizable chunk of oil infrastructure here as their claim is superior to others

MLB & NFL
Where I am at this moment, I can’t access the link, so I’ll ask my unanswered questions here:
For what reason (or—-under what excuse) are the vendors and management gathering this biometrics information? And WHY are the fans submitting to this blatant intrusion of privacy? Since I don’t attend many sports games (not much choice here, and very little interest on my part), I’m just as glad that I’m not having this intrusion foisted on me. If it were, I’m afraid that i would be raising a ruckus, and might be sending this to you from a jail cell.

Whose Streets?
As has been pointed out by others, notice that where there is more gun control, and less guns in the hands of free citizens, there is a massive PantyFa presence.
And where there is less gun control, and more guns in the hands of free citizens, PantiFa is absent, or almost so.
Correlation is not the same as causation, but still, it’s something to make you go, “hmmmmmm………..”
