The last sentence of the quote was originally filmed as: “Shoot, a fella’ could have a pretty good weekend in Dallas with all that stuff”, but the film ended up being released just after the Kennedy assassination, so the city was changed to Vegas by over-dubbing before release.

Kubrick did not tell slim Pickens this was a black comedy. He played his role straight. Witch made it all that much funnier.
