JWR’s Recommendations of the Week

Here are JWR [1]‘s Recommendations of the Week for various media and tools of interest to SurvivalBlog readers.  This week the focus is on the movie Copperhead.

Books:

Conscience of a Conservative: A Rejection of Destructive Politics and a Return to Principle. [2] Note:  Senator Flake is a pseudo-Conservative and a Republican In Name Only (RINO.) I’m recommending that you read the book as an insight on how how the RINOs manipulate and operate. The career-entrenched RINOs in Congress are currently squandering the opportunity of the majority that was handed to them in the last election. They have no intention of “draining the Swamp.”  They are are, in fact, the Swamp Creatures.

G-shock watches are pieces of plastic junk, impossible to program, and worthless in a survival situation. A good self winding Seiko will serve you better. I gave my G-shock away after I could not figure out how to work it.

Wrong — G-Shock watches are the best watches made in the world. Gains only 1 sec a day but does so consistently — you can set them and two months later determine real (UTC) time to within 5 seconds. Essential since with celestial navigation you get 1 nautical mile in error for every 4 seconds error in watch time.

Mechanical watchs like the Seiko can be off by as much as 20 seconds per day if subjected to shocks — which means after a week your watch could be off by over a minute. You have no way of knowing.

You can toss a G-shock out a 3 story window onto a parking lot and it will be unaffected. Want to try that with your Seiko — or a $30,000 Rolex?

Re EMP, mechanical watches don’t work if they get magnetized — hence the ISO anti-magnetic requirement for dive watches. You can hold a strong magnet next to a G-shock –with a strength well above the ISO requirement –and it is unaffected.

Lithium batteries used in G-shocks have a shelf life of 10 years and several years of useable life after that if alarms and light are used sparingly. Whereas mechanical watches have to be lubricated and service every 5 years.

G-shock manuals are available on the internet — look at the back of the watch to determine the module number.

JWR’s Recommendations of the Week August 9, 2017

I followed your recommendation and listened to the sermon by Chuck Baldwin dated Feb. 2009 entitled “What Every Good Christian Should Know About The World Order.”

I am glad you recommended this video. It is excellent and worth listening to. Mr.Baldwin, gives a good introduction explanations concerning the NWO. He has his own style going about it. Who doesn’t. He is one of the best speakers I listened to, so far in a religious context. He has content, and good communication skills. He is quite accurate and knowledgeable. I appreciate that. I am familiar with this topic of NWO in a political context.

JWR, this time, you picked a very good speaker. I found other interesting videos by the same preacher on the site you recommended. So I kept listening. I would definitely recommend for your preppers on this blog to listen to this preacher.

Thank you James, it was worth watching.
