Reader J.R. reports that he tried to sign up with Simbi (mentioned yesterday) and was informed that a social media account was required as proof of identity (to avoid “fake” accounts). If you don’t have a social media presence, they require your full legal name, zip code or address, and a “selfie” of you holding a government issued ID. Given this level of privacy intrusion and the questionable value of the data for the stated reasons, SurvivalBlog cannot recommend Simbi to its readers.
