Bypassing the phase-out of many incandescent light bulbs in the U.S. is a growing company called Newcandescent [1]. They make “Rough Service” bulbs that are exempt from the light bulb ban and which have surprisingly long service lives. (The full impact of the Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA) of 2007 [2], has not yet been felt. Stock up, and be ready to do businesses with these alternative sources.)
