Doc (at www.bigsecrets.cc [6]) contends that the best ballistic barrier that can be improvised on a low budget is a lamination of 1/8″ steel plate, 1/4″ plywood, and 1/8″ steel plate. In other words, cover both sides of plywood with steel plate. It won’t stop .50 caliber rounds or RPG [1]s, but most shoulder fired weapons can be stopped with this barrier.
